The Spanish Jon Rahm yielded to the American Will Zalatoris and the Australian Jason Day the leadership of the Farmers Insurance Open, a PGA Tour tournament that is played at the Torrey Pines club in San Diego, California (USA), after delivering a card of 72 strokes and being third with one more hit.

Rahm didn’t have his best day in San Diego. A bogey on the 12th hole and another double on the 10th eliminated an advantage achieved yesterday that the three birdies achieved, on the 2nd, 9th and 15th holes, could not counteract. The ‘Lion of Barrika’, current number one in the world, completed the third round of the tournament, the second on the south course, in 72 shots for a total of 203 (13 under par), one more than the leaders.

Rahm, who shares third place with English golfer Aaron Rai, will seek his seventh victory on the PGA Tour tomorrow in the final, the only one of a PGA tournament that takes place on Saturday, and thus achieve his second title in San Diego after winning in 2017 with 65 strokes in the closing.

Will Zalatoris came back 16 positions after a great performance without errors and with five birdies and an eagle for a total of 65 shots and an accumulated 202 (-14), while the double bogey committed by Day was diluted among the six birdies that the Australian to finish with a card of 67 impacts.

The final day, on the north course of the field, is expected to be interesting. Among the top 12 classified in the table there were only 3 strokes.
