Raging fire in Roesbrugge

At 2:52 am, the Westhoek fire brigade was called up for a house fire in a terraced house in the Bergenstraat in Roesbrugge, a sub-municipality of Poperinge. The house is completely burned out. The house has minor damage on the right side, but expansion into the adjacent house on the left could be avoided. Both buildings have now been freed from minor damage to the right house, but it remains habitable.

Dog does not survive

The house across the street, as well as two cars, were damaged from the radiant heat. There was a dog in the affected home. It will probably not survive the fire. No one else was injured. The cause of the fire remains unclear at this time. The extinguishing works have now started.
