Rage Against The Machine cancel European tour – Hanover concert also affected

Rage Against The Machine have canceled their European tour. As the band announced on their social networks on August 11, 2022, the 13-show tour cannot take place due to the health problems of singer Zack de la Rocha. Among other things, the only Germany concert in Hanover, which would have been planned for September 3, 2022 at the EXPO Plaza, is affected. The tour schedule would also have included several shows in the UK, as well as performances in Zurich, Malaga, Vienna, Kraków, Zagreb and Prague.

Statement from the band

In a statement, the band explained that doctors had advised de la Rocha against concerts. “We are very disappointed to announce the cancellation,” the band said. The group plans to continue their regular concerts on August 11, 12 and 14, 2022 at New York’s Madison Square Garden. “Then Zack needs to return home to rest and recover,” it says. “The flights, travel time and rigorous schedule in the UK and Europe are simply too great a risk for full recovery,” they argue. “We apologize to all our fans who have been waiting a long time to see us and hope to ‘rage-n’ soon,” the band concludes.

De la Rocha injured his leg at a show in Chicago early in the reunion tour and then performed several shows while seated. So far, however, it is not known whether the cancellation of the tour is related to this. Replacement dates for the shows have not yet been announced.
