In the past few weeks there have always been quarrels between the Boston Red Sox and Rafael Devers, which recently resulted in a trade to the San Francisco Giants. The superstar continues to avoid questions about his ex-manager Alex Cora and the move to California.
“Whatever has happened,” the Star Slugger, on Friday after the 5: 7 defeat against the Red Sox, announced about an interpreter and added: “I don’t want to talk about the past. Whatever happened has happened. But they are still my friends.”
The 28-year-old didn’t want to say too much about his ex-manager either: “I have neither something good nor bad about saying about Alex. I just want to leave everything in the past.”
There is nothing to clarify between the cora and devers
With Cora, the superstar is said to have last been in the clinch, Devers didn’t like his position.
The dispute had started with the signing of gold-glove winner Alex Bregman in the Offseason, who displaced devers from the Third Base to the position as a designated hitter.
In May there was a public conflict again when Triston Casas suffered a serious knee injury and was supposed to suddenly switch to the ridge base.
When it comes to a quick reunion between Devers and the Red Sox after the mega trade, there would still be nothing to talk about, according to Cora: “What clarify? It’s a trade. It’s about baseball. It is a business. It is not the first player that is being traded. It is not the last guy. There are a lot of things that Rafy has missed for us. We are very proud of him.”
