R. Brand Group cooperates with Bielefeld University

The R. Brand Group supports Bielefeld University with a denim design course.

The Herford-based clothing provider, which includes the brands Pioneer Workwear, Pierre Cardin, Baldessarini and Pioneer Jeans, is promoting the “Let’s Play” and “Let’s Denim” design courses with deadstock denim, the R. Brand Group announced on Wednesday. The courses will be held in the winter semester 2024/2025 under the direction of lecturer Philipp Rupp.

“Our goal is to reintegrate unused materials into the design process while supporting young talent in their creative development,” said Adrian Baran, Junior HR Marketing Specialist at R.Brand Group.

The materials provided, which include sample parts and unused materials, should be used for experimental designs by the students. To do this, they used the collage technique.

The R. Brand Group wants to use this collaboration to integrate “fresh ideas and practical approaches” into its own work, according to the statement.

“We want to support young designers during their training and give them perspectives in the fashion industry,” says Katrin Culemann, Head of Human Resources at the R.Brand Group. “With projects like this, we create a platform for creative ideas and lay the foundation for long-term partnerships – from student work to permanent employment.”
