The 26-year-old Leons started playing basketball at Akrides in IJmuiden and later switched to Apollo in Amsterdam-Zuid. Last year, 26-year-old Leons made his debut in the American NBA, the most prestigious basketball competition in the world, on behalf of the Oklahoma City Thunder. He played six games in the main squad before being transferred back to the club’s training team: Oklahoma City Blue.

Leons has impressed with this team this season. In twelve games, the 2.06 meter tall Leons averaged 14.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.7 steals.

Reunification

Leons returns to his new club, the Golden State Warriors Quinten Post against. Post was the only Dutchman in the NBA so far this season and played together with Leons in the youth team of Apollo.

The Golden State Warriors have had a mixed start this season and are now eighth in the Western Conference.
