Quick goal sufficient for Helmond Sport win, moderate NAC firmly down

To say the least, it was not the best round for the Brabant teams in the Kitchen Champion Division. FC Eindhoven still had a small chance of the period title, but lost 0-1 to The Hague. TOP Oss, Jong PSV and a moderately playing NAC also ran into a defeat. The exception was Helmond Sport that won 0-1 at Jong Ajax. The match between Willem II and FC Den Bosch was stopped in the eighteenth minute because of fireworks on the field. The match was resumed after an hour.

Young Ajax – Helmond Sport 0-1
Helmond Sport surprised friend and foe by beating Jong Ajax at home. Match winner was Elmo Lieftink who was already successful in the second minute. From a great distance he curled the ball into the Ajax goal. In the first half, the visitors had a few more chances to increase the lead. After the break, the better scoring opportunities were for Jong Ajax. A goal by the team from Amsterdam was also disallowed for offside. For the Helmonders it was the third victory of the season.

ADO The Hague – FC Eindhoven 1-0
The team of trainer Rob Penders still had a small chance of winning the first period title. But then FC Eindhoven should have won the match against FC Den Haag in any case. The period title now goes to Heracles. Before half time, Evan Rottier was given the opportunity to open the score for the Eindhoven team, but that did not work. On the other hand, Mario Bilate (FC Den Haag) was dangerous with a shot that just went over. Fifteen minutes after the break, striker Thomas Verheydt scored the only goal of the game, 1-0.

Young AZ – NAC Breda 4-0
A moderately playing NAC was trumped by Jong AZ on all fronts. Halfway through the first half, the team from Alkmaar took a 1-0 lead thanks to a goal from Yusuf Barasi. For NAC Breda there were only a few chances. After the break, the level of the Breda team dropped to a dubious level. That resulted in three goals for the home team. Soulyman Allouch. Iman Griffith and Max Meerdink determined the final score at 4-0.

Young PSV – Telstar 0-2
Jong PSV had won the last four games and Telstar went on the hunt for a fifth victory. That turned out differently for Jong PSV. The game was even until halftime. in the last quarter of the game, the team from Velsen-Noord struck hard. Christos Giousis converted a penalty. Seven minutes later, Yael Liesdek put an end to the illusions of Jong PSV with Telstar’s second goal.

TOP Oss – MVV 0-1
