Marianne Faithfull is dead. The British singer and actress died on January 30, 2025 at the age of 78. We take a look at what we so far know about the cause of death.
The musician’s family published a statement in which she confirmed death. “With deep grief we announce the death of the singer, songwriter and actress Marianne Faithfull,” it says. “Marianne died peacefully in London today with her family. It will be painfully missing, ”the family continued.
Heavy covid-19 disease
Marianne Faithfull was serious about Covid-19 in 2020 and fought for her life in the hospital for several weeks. In the meantime it had looked as if it were not surviving the disease, Faithfull already received palliative care. Her cause of death has so far remained a matter of speculation, an official statement on this is still pending.
Marianne Faithfull and the fight against breast cancer
