“I liked the damn movie! “Does that make me a fucking asshole?” said the director.
While “Joker: Folie à Deux” was anything but well received by most critics and cinema audiences, Quentin Tarantino is one of the few people who like the film, which was released in October 2024. Now the director once again reiterated his opinion to people who had verbally attacked him for it.
Quentin Tarantino is not an asshole
In the podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Tarantino brought up his previous comments about the quasi-musical, which he described as “really captivating.” “I go on a show and say I like ‘Joker 2,'” the 61-year-old said. “And then you read the comments: ‘Quentin is a fucking asshole. The movie fucking sucks. He’s a fucking asshole for saying that.'”
The director didn’t want to let these alleged comments slide. “Why am I an asshole? I liked the damn movie!” he shouted. “Does that make me an asshole? You either like the film or you don’t. I’m not promoting the film. I don’t do anything. I’m just saying that I like him. Who cares what I like? Why do you care what I like?”
Nobody can see all the films
He also rejects the accusation that he left out other, better films. “Then they say I’m a fucking asshole because I don’t see something,” he added. “What the hell do you care what I see or don’t see?” Someone will say, ‘Well, I think he’s missing something.’ Well, I’m sure there’s a lot of shit I could tell you’re missing out on, and I don’t care if you miss out on it.”
Even the cast didn’t like “Joker: Folie à Deux”.
Tarantino continues to maintain his love for what many consider to be the most disappointing film of the year, even though not even the cast has a good word to say about it. The American comedian Tim Dillon also revealed to podcaster Joe Rogan that employees of “Joker: Folie à Deux” were said to have spoken badly about the work on set. Dillon, who played the role of a security guard at Arkham Asylum, said during filming that it was “the worst movie ever made.”
