The Queens of the Stone Age singer first opened up about his cancer diagnosis in 2022 in an interview.
Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme has revealed that he was diagnosed with cancer in 2022. The operations to remove the diseased tissue were successful. The almost 50-year-old is currently still recovering from it. The conversation in which he told more about it, he conducted with the magazine “Revolver”. It was also his first in-depth interview since COVID-19, the end of his marriage and the custody battle over his three children.
Although the operation was successful, Homme still struggles with occasional pain. He narrated “Revolver” in the Interview from April: “I never say it can’t get worse. I never say that, and I wouldn’t advise it. But I say it can get better. Cancer is just the icing on the cake of an interesting time span. I’m very thankful that I’m going to get through this and I’ll look back on that time as something that sucked – but made me better. I can live with that. There’s a lot of things I want to do. And there are a lot of people I want to do that with.”
Homme did not say what type of cancer it was.

Queens of the Stone Age’s new album will be released on June 16th. It’s called IN TIMES NEW ROMAN…
Two singles from it, “Emotion Sickness” and “Carnavoyeur”, already give a foretaste of the new record.
Tour dates in Europe in November
Earlier this month, QOTSA announced a 2023 North American and European tour titled The End Is Nero, kicking off in August. According to the interview with “Revolver”, he will even bring his three children with him to the European dates: “Travel shows you that there is magic in the world. I love discovering these things. And I don’t want to do this alone.”
