Queens Of The Stone Age announce more re-issues

Queens Of The Stone Age announce not just one, but several new releases – but almost exclusively with old music: The Californian stoner rock band around singer and guitarist Josh Homme now wants to reissue the albums of which no re-issues have been released so far . They start with their debut album QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, which was released in 1998. It will be re-released digitally on September 22nd and on vinyl on October 21st.

Were still a trio in 1999 including bassist Nick Olivieri (right), who likes to play naked: Queens Of The Stone Age.

The re-issue should come with limited color vinyl pressings (black as standard, limited opaque orange), the original track listing and the original artwork by Frank Kozik, which has been out of print for a long time.

LIKE CLOCKWORK (2013) and VILLAINS (2017) are to follow on December 9th. The former has been recut from the original master tapes and is set to be released on a limited edition opaque aqua vinyl pressing with alternate artwork and an Obi strip by Boneface. As for VILLAINS, the label says it will be re-released as a “special 5th anniversary package featuring Obi-Strip and a brand new poster by Boneface, and will be available as a limited edition on leaf green clear vinyl.”

Their four other albums RATED R, SONGS FOR THE DEAF, ERA VULGARIS and LULLABIES TO PARALYZE were released by Interscope at the time and have already been reissued.

Queens Of The Stone Age were formed in Palm Desert in 1996 and have released seven albums in changing line-ups. VILLAINS is still relevant to her. A successor has not yet been announced.
