Queen consort Camilla, 75, gives up her beloved hobby, horse riding. Camilla visited Hamburg, Germany last week, where she met school children, among other things. Camilla told the children that she no longer rides, but still tries her best to find time for horses.

– I used to have horses that I rode, but unfortunately I don’t ride anymore.

– I think I’m already too old. But I have racehorses, last night I watched the birth of a foal on video. It was very exciting, Camilla said.

The hobby of horses has been known to be close to Camilla’s heart for decades. Queen Elizabeth also shared the same love for horses and riding.

King Charles is not as enthusiastic about the horse hobby as Camilla. A source from within the royal family says that the queen consort has taken over the operation of the stables left by Elizabeth. Camilla now keeps in touch with the trainers and supervises the operation of the facilities.

The purpose of Charles and Camilla’s trip to Germany last week was to highlight the good relations between Germany and Great Britain. In his speech, Charles thanked the Germans for how sympathetic they have been in the wake of Queen Elizabeth’s passing.
