Neymar is still expected to play after the group stage matches.
Injured in the opening match of the World Cup in Brazil Neymar posted a picture of his swollen ankle on social media. Swelling was already noticeable in the superstar’s ankle during the match. Now the condition of the ankle has only gotten worse.
In the recent photo, the entire metatarsal is swollen. The ankle is as thick as his lower leg.

The superstar’s ankle was badly twisted when the Serbian Nikola Milenkovic pounced on him with a slide tackle. The Serbian’s knee hit Neymar’s ankle. Milenkovic did not receive a warning.
Neymar persevered for another 11 minutes from the 68th minute until he had to leave the game. Brassi broke down in tears on the bench.
Head coach of Brazil Tite assured that Neymar will still play in the World Cup. The team doctor confirmed on Friday that the superstar will miss the remaining two games of the group stage.
Brazil beat Serbia 2-0 last Thursday. Brazil will face Switzerland on Monday and Cameroon on Friday.
