PVH: Nadia Azria will become Chief Merchandising Officer at Tommy Hilfiger

Nadia Azria joins Tommy Hilfiger from Nike. On November 1, she will take over the newly created position of Chief Merchandising Officer, Tommy Hilfiger Global, at the fashion brand, which belongs to the US clothing group PVH Corporation. In this role, Azria will “play a critical role in executing our strategy aimed at increasing consumer desirability and strengthening our premium positioning as a true global lifestyle brand,” Tommy Hilfiger said in a statement on Tuesday .

With the new position, the clothing supplier wants to “drive forward the harmonization across categories and the growth of the Tommy Hilfiger and Tommy Jeans brands”. Azria’s future area of ​​responsibility is correspondingly comprehensive: She will “lead the strategic management and development of all global products by Tommy Hilfiger, including the areas of merchandising, product development, purchasing and planning, operations and cooperations,” according to a statement. In doing so, she should “in cooperation with the design and sourcing departments as well as the regional management teams” pursue a new approach to collection development while “strengthening global product coherence and local relevance”.

Azria comes from US sporting goods retailer Nike Inc., where she most recently served as VP EMEA Merchandising One Nike Market Place. In the course of her career, which has spanned more than thirty years, she previously spent 13 years with the fashion company Ralph Lauren, where she held various management positions in the EMEA region.
