Finnish software developer Jolla has been trying to break free from its Russian owners. The Kremlin recently ruled that iPhones would be banned from government officials. According to the Russian business magazine Kommersant, the phone could be replaced by phones using the Aurora OS operating system. Tivi reported on the matter. Aurora, developed in Russia, is based on the source code of the Sailfish operating system developed by Finnish company Jolla. The Sailfish operating system was licensed in Russia for use by the administration and companies in 2016. The Russian operator Rostelecom is responsible for the development and maintenance of Aurora.
