The US and NATO responses to Russian security assurance proposals contain ideas on secondary issues, but the dialogue does not end there. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a press conference following talks with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron. Broadcast led RBC.

Putin noted that the responses of the United States and NATO do not contain a position on such key issues for Russia as the nonproliferation of NATO, the non-deployment of strike systems near the borders of Russia, the return of infrastructure to 1997, when the founding Russia-NATO act was signed.

“The impression is that we did not raise these questions, they were simply bypassed. We see there political clichés and proposals on some minor issues. But I don’t think that our dialogue is over here,” the President said.

He also clarified that Macron was informed of the nature of the response that Russia would send to the US and NATO on the proposals for security guarantees. “We will prepare a response to the paper that we received from Brussels and Washington. Let’s send them. There are things that can be discussed there,” Putin concluded.
