Putin and Erdogan agreed on a meeting of delegations on Ukraine in Istanbul

Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan agreed to hold the next meeting of the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul, reported Office of the Turkish President.

The heads of state had a telephone conversation during which they discussed the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. “During the conversation, President Erdogan stressed the need for a ceasefire, as well as an early [достижения] peace between Russia and Ukraine, improving the humanitarian situation in the region,” Erdogan’s administration said. The statement emphasizes that Turkey is ready “in all possible ways” to contribute to the settlement process.

Earlier on Sunday, a member of the Ukrainian delegation, David Arakhamia, said that face-to-face negotiations with the Russian side would be held from March 28 to 30 in Turkey. In turn, the head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, announced a face-to-face meeting on March 29-30, without specifying the venue.
