Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law according to which credit organizations will be able to identify the client’s identity in a simplified manner when carrying out monetary transactions using the driver’s license number. Document published on the official portal of legal information.
The bill was submitted to the State Duma on February 2 this year. The lower house approved it in the third reading on December 15.

Now clients of credit institutions can present a driver’s license to verify their identity when carrying out monetary transactions.
In addition, the limit on the amount of payment for CASCO and OSAGO, at which it is necessary to identify a person, has been increased from 15 thousand to 40 thousand rubles. Payments not exceeding this amount can be made without identification.
