In the meantime, the police have imprisoned the two shepherd dogs and investigate whether the incidents are related to each other. Among the local residents there are no doubts about the possible perpetrators: several Noordelingen woke up that night with barking and growls in the gardens.

Pluk, the cat of Jelmer, was bitten to death in the night from Monday to Tuesday. They found Pluk in the neighbors’ garden, who had woken up in the night by hard barking dogs. “They were two dogs on a murder mission,” says Jelmer. “People who have pets understand that a pet becomes part of your family and now Pluk is torn away from our family and that is incredibly sad,” he says.

Shocked

Local residents respond shocked to the events. “I am shocked,” says a woman who walks her dog. “Immediately pick up those dogs and give them a good house, because those dogs can’t do anything about it,” says another north.

The police hope that people who have woken up from the dogs or have seen something at night contact the desk.
