After races in Zandvoort
Next blow for Hamilton: Punishment for Ferrari pilots
31.08.2025 – 10:14 p.m.Reading time: 2 min.

The race in Zandvoort is unhappy for Lewis Hamilton. Then there is another setback for the seven -time world champion.
Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari are currently practicing nothing in Formula 1 – and now there is also a punishment for the seven -time world champion. The completely missed Sunday at the Netherlands Grand Prix for Hamilton and the “Scuderia” will therefore also have an impact at the upcoming home race in Monza. Hamilton was punished almost four hours after the end of the race in Zandvoort: In the starting line-up at the Grand Prix of Italy next Sunday (from 3 p.m. in the live ticker at T-Online), the 40-year-old will be returned by five places.
Reason: an offense that happened before the start of the race. Because during his sighting rounds, Hamilton was too fast in the last curve despite twice the yellow flag.
Explanation: Because it was quite tight in Zandvoort behind the last curve, the race director had asked all participants to reduce the pace there during the sighting rounds “to ensure the safety of everyone in the starting line -up and the pit lane”. This was displayed by the yellow flags – Hamilton drove twice too quickly.
In the race he then left because of an unfortunate driving error. “I’m sorry, guys,” he then sparked to his team, later he explained to Sky: “I don’t know exactly what happened there either. Actually, I actually had a good feeling in the race” – it didn’t work either.
Later, his team-mate Charles Leclerc also caught it in an accident with Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli. Basically, the Ferrari in the Netherlands seemed to work properly. A good result in Monza is now a long way off for Hamilton.
