Punishment for half time can no longer be overcome by AFC against Jong Sparta

AFC suffered a painful defeat on their own field against Jong Sparta Rotterdam. The team of trainer Uli Landvreugd conceded no less than three goals before half-time and did not recover from the damage sustained: 2-3. As a result, AFC drops to fourth place in the second division.

Although the team from Amsterdam had by far the most ball possession, it received a lesson in effectiveness from Jong Sparta. The visitors led 0-3 during the break thanks to two hits from Mohammed Tahiri and one from Pepijn Doesburg.

AFC then came out of the locker room very strong. Kenny Teijsse and Daniël Zoutberg brought the home team back into the game within five minutes. AFC just did not manage to get further than the connecting goal: 2-3.

Jong Sparta has surpassed AFC in the rankings. They now occupy fourth place with 35 points. The team from Rotterdam is now third with one point more. Next week, AFC will visit Jong FC Volendam.
