public image ltd want to represent Ireland at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with the new song “Hawaii”. The song is a love letter to John Lydon’s wife Nora, who has Alzheimer’s disease. In 2020, the singer announced he had scrapped a planned album with his band solely because he wanted to take care of them.

Lyndon reiterated that “Hawaii” is dedicated to “everyone who is going through hard times on life’s journey with the person they love most.” He added, “It’s also a message of hope that ultimately love conquers all.”

ESC under special signs

The 2023 Eurovision Song Contest will be held in May in Liverpool, which will host the competition on behalf of Ukraine, which is obviously unable to host the ESC due to the ongoing war with Russia.
