PSV lash out against FC Utrecht

PSV won 6-1 against FC Utrecht on Sunday afternoon. Guus Til, Xavi Simons and Anwar El Ghazi were the big men on the side of the Eindhoven team. All three were responsible for two goals. With the win, PSV is currently at the top of the Eredivisie.

PSV has already won 25 times in a row at home from FC Utrecht and Sunday afternoon it also had few problems with the Domstedelingen. After seven minutes, the 0-1 was already on the scoreboard. It was Xavi Simons who finished in a controlled manner after a measured pass from Joey Veerman.

Still, it seemed to be exciting for a while when Utrecht came to 1-1 after 25 minutes. Fumbling in the back led to Sander van der Streek’s goal. Armando Obispo went under a ball and the ball came to the feet of the Utrecht midfielder via Philipp Max’s leg.

Occasional rush hour
In the absence of Luuk de Jong and Yorbe Vertessen, Guus Til is in the striker at PSV. The midfielder was very unhappy as an attack leader last Thursday, but showed on Sunday that he can be of value.

Thanks to two goals from Til, PSV ran out to 3-1 before the break. A safe margin that was no longer endangered. Yet the Eindhoven club yearns for the return of Luuk de Jong. With Til you can get away against FC Utrecht, but in the coming matches against Arsenal, the lack of a real striker will be great.

Simple afternoon
In the second half Simons made the 4-1 after an hour of play and the victory was in the bag for PSV. Substitute El Ghazi managed to score two more times in the last ten minutes, making PSV beat FC Utrecht 6-1.

PSV can now sit back and see what the competition will do. Feyenoord and AZ will play against each other later this Sunday. In the evening, a home match against Excelsior is scheduled for Ajax. With two favorable results, the Eindhoven club can close the weekend as the leader.
