Peter Bosz has again been nominated for the Rinus Michels Award, the prize for best trainer of the Eredivisie season. The PSV coach won the award in the past two years after winning the national title with PSV. Now he is also one of the contenders.
Under Bosz’s leadership, PSV became national champions for the third time in a row this year, and that happened in record time: the Eindhoven team were already assured of the title on April 5. Never before has a club become Eredivisie champions so early.
The other nominees in the Eredivisie are Dick Schreuder and Anthony Correia. Schreuder led NEC to third place and thus to qualification for the preliminary rounds of the Champions League. With the newly promoted Telstar, Correia ensured immediate maintenance in the Eredivisie, which means that the club was allowed to stay in the competition and was not relegated.
The winner will be announced on July 8 during the National Football Coach Congress in Papendal. All Eredivisie trainers and national coach Ronald Koeman cast their votes.
First division and women’s league
Nominees have also been announced in the first division and the women’s competition.
John Stegeman (Willem II) has been nominated in the first division. He guided the Tilburg club to promotion to the Eredivisie. In addition, Henk de Jong (SC Cambuur) and Robin Peter (ADO Den Haag) have also been nominated.
In the Women’s Eredivisie it concerns Roeland ten Berge of PSV Women, Anouk Bruil of Ajax Women and Jessica Torny of Feyenoord Women. The nomination of PSV coach Ten Berge in particular ensures Brabant input in the women’s competition.
