PSV celebrates cup win: “Beer, baco and Guardian Angel”

A euphoric mood at PSV after the cup win. Afterwards, Joël Drommel and Joey Veerman were overjoyed. They already gave a preview of what the party will look like on Sunday evening.

Joey Veerman was just not furious after the cup final. After the ceremony, he was handed a 0.0 beer. “Who comes up with something like that? I immediately exchanged it for a decent beer.”

Joël Drommel, who sat next to the midfielder, was then asked how much alcohol is consumed by his teammate. “About 20-30 beers”, the goalkeeper said jokingly. But there will still be a grain of truth if we were to believe Veerman afterwards.

“I’ll drink some beer and then the bacos will come”

“I drink some beer. Then the bacos come and then at the end of the evening we are singing Guardian Angel again.”

No Guardian Angel for Drommel. He made his own song with friends last year. “Joël promised that he would sing it if we won the cup. So I’m looking forward to that.”

So the two friends will make it late tonight. First a ceremony awaits in the Philips Stadium. “That was also great last year”, Veerman remembers.

“It was a beautiful folk festival”

For Van Nistelrooij, the cup win was a nice revenge for the lost final at his farewell as a PSV player. “I am very happy. For everyone. Football is about prizes. If you lose it… you will never get the moment back.”

Looking ahead to the ceremony, the trainer praised his fans. “They behaved great today. The support was fantastic and it was a great folk festival. We are going to celebrate well with them.”
