PSV and FC Groningen stop duel and clap for sick press secretary

The competition match between PSV and FC Groningen was briefly interrupted on Saturday. The players and supporters of both teams clapped for a minute in the 12th minute for Thijs Slegers, PSV’s press secretary who is terminally ill due to blood cancer.

The spectators in the Philips stadium pulled out their phones en masse and created an impressive moment with the many lights and singing.

Slegers, who was present in the stadium himself, called last week for the donation of stem cells so that people who become ill in the future can be helped. After that call, more than 5,000 people have now registered as a stem cell donor.

Last week during Feyenoord – PSV, the fans of both teams in De Kuip also clapped for Slegers for a minute.
