The judges agreed with Kylian Mbappé: Now his former club Paris Saint-Germain has to pay a large sum.
In the million-dollar dispute between football star Kylian Mbappé and his former club Paris Saint-Germain, the Paris labor court has ordered the club to pay around 61 million euros. The judges agreed with the player and sentenced the club to pay the open salaries and bonuses demanded by Mbappé. But the legal showdown that has been going on for a year and a half is not over. Both parties now have the opportunity to go to the appeal court.
The dispute originally arose over an amount of around 55 million euros in salary and bonus that Mbappé demanded from the Parisian Kub after his move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2024. After a lengthy exchange of blows before various authorities, further allegations followed and the demands escalated to astronomical sums.
At the labor court hearing in November, the 26-year-old PSG player then demanded 263 million euros, while the club demanded 440 million euros from the star player. Mbappé added to what he believed to be outstanding salary and bonus payments for unfair dismissal, a signing bonus with holiday pay and a sum for allegedly illegal employment. PSG, in turn, is demanding compensation for a failed transfer. The labor court brushed off all of these further demands from both sides.
The 2018 world champion moved to Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer of 2024 after seven years in the PSG uniform.
