The province will start on Friday by cutting down 24 trees along the N395 between Middelbeers and Diessen. The province comes with this procedure to improve the safety of the road. Several fatal accidents happened on the road. In March, 13-year-old Noud died due to a collision with a car. It was not the first time that a serious or fatal accident happened on this road. Local residents, local politicians and members of the States have been ringing the bell for years. According to the province, the safety of the N395 was examined at the end of 2024. That research has now been completed.

The research shows that a number of oak trees must be urgently cut down because they hinder the view of drivers. The province takes away all 24 trees urgently. They are all expected to be cut down on Saturday.
