A second scheme seemed imminent, but the so-called MGA2 scheme is NRC on the journey. According to the newspaper, the buy-out scheme will not get off the ground because it could be illegal state aid. Compared to the first scheme, farmers in the second scheme are allowed to start up an agricultural business elsewhere. There is now a fear from Brussels that bought out Dutch farmers will start up abroad, pushing local farmers off the market, NRC writes. Partly for this reason, the first regulation has now been extended. Van der Wal confirms NRC’s story to ANP on Wednesday.
