In the Bruges criminal court, the defendants must answer for human trafficking and pimping of at least nine women since December 2018. V. must not only appear in court for the prostitution crimes, but also for rape, inhuman treatment and imprisonment of the woman who reported the crime.
Not equipped
On Wednesday morning it turned out that Gandolfi’s lawyer was still unable to view the results of the telephone investigation. “Apparently the clerk’s office is not equipped to deal with digital evidence of that magnitude,” said Master Louis De Groote. The intention is therefore to transfer the equipment from the local police of Ostend to the court. The judges will consider the issue again on February 18, but the case will not yet be argued.
