The owner of the railway network in the Netherlands, Prorail, is carrying out large-scale work on the track around Hoogeveen between 7 and 23 May. This concerns, among other things, the adaptation of the station and the relocation of the railway crossing to the Toldijk.

To keep local residents and other interested parties informed about the work around the track, Prorail will hold a walk-in evening from 5 p.m. tonight in the hall of the NS station.

Between Groningen and Zwolle, near Hoogeveen, there is a railway curve where trains have to slow down. The rail curve will be adjusted so that trains can run faster and shorter travel times between Groningen and the Randstad. During the work, buses will run between the different stations.
