Prop trading companies do not hire traders, but often carry out extensive selection process. Depending on the company, there are two main paths to qualify as a prop trader:

Some companies are specifically looking for talented traders with a proven track record. In this case, applicants usually have to submit their previous trading results to demonstrate their skills. Alternatively, an aptitude test is carried out in which candidates have to demonstrate their market assessment and decision -making behavior.

The second way leads over so -called “Trading Challenges”that of many prop trading companies such as Dnafunded* be offered. It is a paid test phase in which the applicant acts with virtual capital. The aim is to achieve a given return within a certain period of time without exceeding defined loss limits. If you successfully master this challenge, you will have access to real commercial capital and then generate profits with real markets.

However, these challenges are not without risk. Since they are usually connected to a starting fee, unsuccessful applicants can quickly spend high sums for repeated tests. In addition, some dubious providers intentionally set the criteria so that only a few participants exist the challenge. It is therefore important to carefully check the conditions and only apply for reputable prop trading companies.
