Promise not kept? Ryan Gravenberch follows suit!

After just one season, Ryan Gravenberch left FC Bayern in frustration. The Dutchman seems to feel much more comfortable at Liverpool FC than in Munich. A verbal attack against his former club proves this thesis.

In the summer, Gravenberch moved from FC Bayern to Anfield for around 40 million euros. The deal was preceded by a disappointing season for all sides at the German record champions, where the midfield youngster only played a supporting role.

The 21-year-old expected his move to the Premier League to be a fresh start for his career, which had previously stalled slightly.

The first interim assessment reads positively: In the Europa League, Gravenberch was always allowed to start in the first three group games, and his playing time in the league has also gradually increased in the last few weeks. After twelve appearances, we have already contributed four goals (two goals, two assists).

“I really like him as a guy and as a player, and it’s really nice to see how much he’s starting to believe in himself again,” team manager Jürgen Klopp said recently.

Gravenberch: FC Bayern did not keep promises

In an interview with the TV channel “Viaplay”, Gravenberch once again commented on the reasons for his quick departure from FC Bayern and Klopp’s persuasion.

“They wanted to build me up slowly, but I would get my chances. That was the most important thing I wanted,” emphasized the Orange international.

With the Reds he has so far “got the minutes I expected,” added Gravenberch. When asked whether Liverpool had kept its promise better than FC Bayern, he replied with a smile: “Actually, yes.”

A small swipe for the German industry leader, who made a whopping transfer plus of more than 20 million euros with Gravenberch.
