KBC posted a net profit of EUR 2.864 billion last year. That is 10 percent more than a year earlier and more than expected. This is evident from the annual results published by the Belgian bank-insurer.

In the last three months of the year, a profit of 818 million euros was made. That is more than analysts had expected. CEO Johan Thijs speaks of “excellent results”, partly due to higher net interest income.

The bank proposes a total gross dividend of 4 euros per share, of which one euro interim dividend was already paid in November. The shareholder can also count on a share buyback or an extraordinary dividend of one billion euros.
