A Hungarian millionaire can whistle for the nearly nine tons he had demanded from multiple dressage champion Anky van Grunsven from Erp and her husband Sjef Janssen. He thinks they have not delivered a good job when it comes to training, among others, his daughter. His allegations about cross -border behavior against Janssen are also not based on anything. The court in Den Bosch determined this on Wednesday.
The judge also had bad news for the Anky Holding, the company of Anky and Sjef. They had demanded more than three tons of the Hungarian, for training and storing his horses at their riding school in Erp. This requirement was also rejected by the court. The legal tug of war between the Kemphanen has lasted more than two years.
‘Prepare for Olympic Games’
In April 2018, the Hungarian and Anky Holding joined each other. They initially concluded an agreement until September 2020, which would be extended to January 2023. The millionaire was worth a lot to have his 16-year-old daughter in the riding school of the world-famous and former successful amazon. The goal was to prepare her for the 2024 Olympic Games. Another rider and a large number of Hungarian horses were also housed in Anky’s training center.
Over time, the dissatisfaction with the man grew: according to him, the staff of the Erpse company did not deliver a good job: “No professional training was given and the value of the performance delivered has been nil for his team.” The court refuted the accusation of the Hungarian. His daughter did well in that period and even won various prizes under the leadership of the Erpse Duo. Also during her stay there was never complaining about possible undersized training.
‘Sexual desires’
Another, perhaps much more serious, does not save it in court either. Janssen is said to have committed to sexually unacceptable behavior. He would have spoken with the young Hungarian about sex daily, such as about his sexual desires and with whom he still wanted sex. Janssen also asked the girl to bring him into contact with her friends, the Hungarian claimed.
Due to the attitude of Janssen, the quality of the training and the game performance of the girl was negatively influenced, as was also brought forward. She was no longer able to concentrate and perform optimally and still experiences the consequences.
Always contradicted
Janssen and Van Grunsven have always contradicted all accusations. They have now received support from the judge: the claimant has not substantiated at all in this area on which the claims are based.
Anky Holding also had to take a defeat. The company believed that the Hungarian still had to transfer more than three tons of arrears. According to the judge, Anky and Sjef have not been able to make it clear enough why they would be entitled to that money. Moreover, the dressage set was accused of drawing up an account after the cooperation has been terminated for an amount that could not be justified.
