The demonstrators, united in Palestine Solidarity Tilburg (PST), sit on the ground in the central hall of the Cube building. They say they will stay there until Tilburg University cuts all ties with Israel. The time for talking is over, the demonstrators say.
Due to the occupation, some program components of Night University had to be moved to other places.
The festival lasts until about one o’clock tonight. A spokesperson for the university says they do not yet know what will happen to the demonstrators when the festival ends. The protest has been very peaceful so far.
There was also an occupation during last year’s festival.
