In Finland, May Day is celebrated over the weekend, which is known not only as a celebration of spring and workers, but also for students.

Students also celebrate in Norway. It’s true that they’re not talking about Vapu, but about “Russetid”. And in Norway, the spring festival is associated with benchers, because russetid is first and foremost a celebration of high school graduates.

It doesn’t go unseen or unheard, at least in the Oslo area, where red and blue overalls and hats resembling university caps are taking over the industry. Celebrating students also make noise, especially when they ride on the blaring “Russebus”.

One of those celebrating this year is the Crown Prince Couple of Norway, Haakon and Mette-Marit’sfirst child together, Princess Ingrid, 19.

Ingrid’s studies at Elvebakken high school are coming to an end.

Norway’s Hovi has published two pictures of the crown princess celebrating Russetid on her Instagram.

– There have been days when it has been difficult to wake up in the morning and stressful periods before tests and exams. But there have also been days when we have found new friends, got inspiration from teachers or finished something we have been working on for a long time.

– It is also important to remember those who have experienced exclusion and bullying, as well as those who for one reason or another did not make it to high school, Ingrid states.

Like his fellow students, he has become accustomed to red overalls.

In Norway, it is customary for each student’s last name to appear on the leg of the overalls.

Royals don’t use surnames, but Ingrid’s leg says it anyway Høiby, which is Mette-Marit’s maiden name. This has delighted many Instagram commenters:

– How nice that the mother’s maiden name is on the jumpsuit.

– For the name (heart emoji).
