Princess Amalia is going to study (and in rooms) in Amsterdam

That made the Government Information Service announced Monday morning.

Princess Amalia in rooms

Princess Amalia will start the bachelor after the summer politics, psychology, law and economics (PPLE) at the University of Amsterdam. She has completed the application and selection procedure in the past year and will therefore start the training in September.

The crown princess will also live in rooms in the new academic year, says the Government Information Service. “Apartment is being rented that the princess will share with some fellow students.” The choice for Amsterdam is striking, as her father and grandmother traditionally went to study in Leiden.

Changes

Now that Amalia is 18 years old, things are changing. She shows her face more often on important occasions. But the ‘great work’ is still for her parents. Like many other teenagers, Amalia dives into the study benches after her gap year.

Amalia has broad interests. “I applied for some studies in different cities, but I don’t know yet. It’s exciting and I hope to be able to say more soon,” she said earlier on King’s Day.

Gap year of princess Amalia

Despite the corona virus, Princess Amalia did not sit still during her gap year. “I’ve done a lot of fun things in the past year,” she said on King’s Day. “I was especially busy with things that have added something to me, both educational and creative and fun.” She has completed a few useful internships during her free year. She did this for the Oranje Fonds, among others. Then two more internships followed, but what the princess has done she prefers to keep to herself.

This is what Princess Amalia has already secretly done as a future queen:
