Lindwall is the editor-in-chief of the Swedish magazine Svensk Damtidning, which focuses especially on royalty, and a long-time royal reporter.
In the book, Lindwall extensively discusses, among other things, the divorce rumors that the crown princess couple will face in 2022. Book revelations have made news in Sweden Svensk Damtidning and Expressen. In this article, we collect the book’s biggest revelations.

Angry Daniel
At the beginning of 2022, rumors spread that Victoria and Daniel were getting divorced. The Swedish media tried for a long time to find out whether the rumors were true.
Rumors also reached the court. The baseless claims especially troubled Daniel, who for weeks tried to get his way through and deny the rumors publicly. Royal advisers opposed the idea. The situation was discussed numerous times at the couple’s home in Haga Castle.
The book describes a crisis meeting organized in The Hague in February 2022. According to Lindwall, Daniel was furious. Italicized passages are direct, freely translated quotes from the book.
Of course, Victoria had seen him angry before, but this surpassed everything. “That’s enough,” Daniel roared and looked at the others in the room. “What are you going to do about this? Please explain to me.”

Victoria is said to have tried to calm her husband down. According to Lindwall’s description, Victoria had approached Daniel, put her hand on his arm and said that the matter would be sorted out.
The tactic was completely wrong. It was as if lighter fluid had been poured into a smoldering fire. The others looked very small. Even Victoria slumped back in her chair and the whole situation was very painful.

“The situation is serious”
According to Lindwall, also the queen Silvia took part in the crisis discussions held around the issue. The book tells Svensk Damtidning according to that Silvia would have arrived at Haga Castle late one evening, escorted by security guards, for a secret meeting. The car carrying Silvia did not arrive at the castle’s main entrance via the usual route, but the queen was brought to the back door via a side route.
Silvia knew she looked stressed. He was very nervous. It was clear that all was not well in Haga. They had known that for some time. The king and queen agreed that Silvia should try to resolve the situation.
Silvia met Victoria and Daniel inside the castle. Lindwall describes the situation as “one of the most difficult things the Queen has ever had to experience”.
Victoria felt that the situation was serious now. His mother had had enough. And when the Queen had had enough, that was it – Victoria realized that the limit had been reached. He didn’t know if he had ever seen his always calm mother so nervous before.

The book says that Daniel did not like the suggestion that the king and queen should be involved in making the decision.
– This is a matter between me and the crown princess. “Of course we talk to them (the king and queen), but I think I speak for both of us when I say that we have to make this decision completely on our own,” Daniel said, according to the book.
Finally, on February 19, 2022, the Court of Sweden issued a completely extraordinary announcement. It can be read, among other things, on the court’s Instagram account.
– It has come to our attention that there have been widespread negative rumors about our private relationship. Rumors are about cheating and divorce. In normal cases, we do not comment on rumors and speculations. In order to protect our family, we want to make it once and for all clear that the rumors currently circulating are completely unfounded, Victoria and Daniel announced on Instagram three years ago.

The new book tells the story of the crown princess couple from the wedding celebrated in 2010 to the present day. Lindwall says For Expressenthat all the information in the book comes from his own insider sources.
A copy of the book was also sent to the court before its publication. Hovi’s information manager Margareta Thorgren tells Expressen that Hovi has not read the book.
