The important Turkish shipping routes through the Bosphorus and Dardanelles have been blocked by tankers carrying crude oil from Russia and Kazakhstan. This has to do with a new rule whereby the Turkish authorities require proof from oil tankers that they are insured before they are allowed to sail through those straits.
