OSNABRÜCK (dpa-AFX) – “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” on new parental allowance figures:
“The state bonus has not been able to stop the declining birth rate. Family policy subsidies alone cannot bring about a baby boom. What is more important is a living environment that supports families in everyday life. Above all: affordable housing, flexible working models and a daycare and all-day school guarantee. However, none of this is a guarantee for an increase in the number of births. Because the decision to bring a child into the world is influenced by a change in social values that puts individualism above family, coupled with uncertainties such as the climate crisis and War. For women, motherhood is no longer automatic; careers and self-realization are more important than for previous generations.”/yyzz/DP/he
