FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” on the Strait of Hormuz:
“The White House seems to be surprised that the mullahs’ regime has still not collapsed. (.) Trump claims that Iran no longer has an air force or a navy. But Tehran obviously still has enough military means to block the Strait of Hormuz with all the economic and political consequences that this has for the entire world. The most powerful military power on the planet, on the other hand, has not yet been able to end this blockade. (.) But now the need is so great that the G-7 states, which include the USA, have decided to escort shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz – although not immediately, which would be necessary, but only “when the security conditions allow it”. Nobody currently knows when that will be.”/yyzz/DP/nas
