The entry list of the Major of Rome is a parade of stars. Belasteguin and Alex Ruiz, Chingotto and Juan Tello, the number one in the Lebron and Galan rankings. The first, also out of the Doha Major, will have to give up for contractual reasons due to his sponsor Nox, while the second has chosen to stay close to his pregnant wife (they will have the second child). 56 couples will go to the main draw (at the start on Monday 23:44 they are sure of a place, while the other 8 after the qualifying rounds). The first 8m, on the other hand, will receive a bye, starting the tournament on the 25th. Up for grabs are 2000 FIP points and a record prize of 525 thousand euros.

Between the main draw and the qualifiers, 4 wild cards will be made available. The path has already begun: in these days, Open tournaments are being held in six Italian regions (Lazio, Piedmont, Emilia Romagna, Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily), aimed at determining who will arrive in Rome. The winners will be admitted to the pre-qualification draw which will take place at the Forum from 18 to 20 May.
