Fulham will return next season to play in the Premier League after beating Preston North End (3-0) and ensure automatic promotion to the top flight of English football.

The team from Craven Cottage, on the banks of the Thames, closed their promotion in a practically perfect season, in which they have dominated the Championship with authority and they have been undisputed leaders since matchday 25.

The ‘Cottages’, with an unstoppable Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has accumulated 40 goals in the Championshiphistorical record of the competition, did not let the second bullet escape to certify promotion, after falling with Derby County last Friday.

Commanded by Marco Silva, former coach of Everton and Watford, Fulham lead Bournemouth by nine points and in thirteen to Carlos Corberán’s Huddersfield Town, which marks the third place, the first that gives access to the playoffs.

This is Fulham’s third promotion to the Premier since the 2017-2018 campaign. To go back to the last time that Fulham saved the category in the Premier, you have to go back to the 15 years that they were in the First Division between 1999 and 2014.

In addition to Mitrovic’s goals, who will once again have an opportunity to stand out in the Premier, where he played with Newcastle United, one of Fulham’s most outstanding figures is Fabio Carvalho, a Portuguese boy from the academy who was about to sign by Liverpool in the past winter market.

A paperwork problem prevented the transfer, but, according to England, The operation will close around eight million euros this summer. Carvalho, 19, has scored nine goals and provided seven assists this season.
