Premier League: Arsenal’s streak breaks at Everton with new coach Dyche

Tarkovsky meets

League leaders Arsenal have lost for the first time after 13 Premier League games without defeat. The “Gunners” surprisingly lost 0-1 (0-0) on Saturday at the previous table penultimate FC Everton, who had previously been without a win for eight games.

James Tarkowski gave new Everton manager Sean Dyche a successful debut with his first goal for the club in the 60th minute. Tarkowski, who only joined the Toffees in the summer, had previously played under Dyche for Burnley FC for several years. Dyche took over as coach from Frank Lampard at the start of the week. Arsenal remain leaders despite the defeat. However, reigning champions and pursuers Manchester City can cut their deficit to two points with a win at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. Everton left the relegation zone at least for the time being with the surprising victory.
