For fans of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, watch out now. After the singer left the Beatles, he primarily made music with his wife Yoko Ono. The relationship between the two was not without controversy, especially among Beatles fans. Still, her 1972 performance of “Power to the People” at New York’s Madison Square Garden is arguably one of her most famous – and the only one of which a full concert film was recorded. This will be showing in cinemas again soon and the ROLLING STONE will be giving away also a nine-part box set of the film worth 199.99 euros.
POWER TO THE PEOPLE: John & Yoko Live in NYC
The film offers a concert experience that shows two concerts by the artist couple from 1972 in New York. It has already been presented on various cinema screens – and it will soon be that time again. The film will run in selected Berlin cinemas from April 29th to May 3rd, 2026. Tickets have been on the website since March 20, 2026 powertothepeople.com available.
If you want to bring the concert experience home permanently, you can take part in our raffle and win the corresponding box set plus poster. It contains a restored version of the concert film, which took twenty years of work. For the restoration, the frames were physically and digitally manipulated by hand; Sean Ono Lennon took over the creative direction.
John Lennon said of the concert at the time: “That performance at Madison Square Garden was the best musical experience I’ve had since the Cavern or even since Hamburg. It was exactly the same feeling we had when the Beatles were really getting going.”

The film will be released in cinemas worldwide from April 29th for a short time.
