The bitter power struggle at Hannover 96 goes into the next round – and again in court. This time even the license of the second division soccer team is at stake. A decisive signature is missing. Long -time club director Martin Kind still hopes for a quick agreement. The Supervisory Board approved the license budget on Wednesday.

“We are still in conversations and I hope that we can get another solution. It cannot be that we don’t get a license. That would be adventurous,” Kind told the NDR on Tuesday. “We currently need a decision urgently so that the documents can be submitted, but we also need a solution to avoid such conflicts in the future.”

License application must be at the DFL until March 17th

Hannover 96 has the problem acute on the table. The license documents must be submitted to the German Football League (DFL) by March 17 – but a decisive signature is missing. For eight months, the managing director’s post in the outsourced professional football company of the second division soccer team has been vacant.

But it is precisely this managing director that calls for the DFL to sign. In this case, an autograph by sports director Marcus Mann, who is equipped with Procura at Hannover 96, is not sufficient.

Supervisory Board approved license budget

After all, the license budget for the coming season 2025/2026 was unanimously approved by the six representatives of the Hannover 96 and the two representatives of the Hannover 96 EV as part of a meeting of the Hannover 96 GmbH & Co. KGAA. As soon as the management of the KGAA has been decided, the licensing documents could now be fully signed and submitted to the German Football League (DFL) on time, the association said.

Complaint at Higher Regional Court Celle

Hanover is still in the bredouille. Because the managing director is still missing. Plan B had not previously worked. The capital side represented by Martin Kind (Hannover 96 Sales & Service GmbH & Co. KG) had submitted an application to the District Court of Hanover on Monday to hire an emergency manager. But this was rejected. “According to the partnership agreement, the order of managing directors is responsible for the supervisory board. This is occupied and fundamentally able to make decisions. This also includes the prompt appointment of a managing director who can cause the signing and submission of the licensing documents,” it said in a message from the court. “An intervention by the register court is therefore not necessary.”

“We are still in conversations and I hope that we can get another solution. It cannot be that we don’t get a license. That would be adventurous.”
– Martin Kind

In other words, the court indicates Hannover 96 to deal with the problems created themselves. However, the shareholders around the child do not want to accept that. As Hannover announced to the NDR on Tuesday, the capital of the child around the child at the Celle Higher Regional Court will appeal against rejecting an emergency manager. “We don’t make ourselves dependent on the court,” said Kind.

Managing Director Searched – Patting situation on the Supervisory Board

At 96, there has been a dispute between the capital side of the child and the representatives of the EV It is about more right to co -determine, power and influence in the association. The preliminary highlight of the conflict was the dismissal of child as a professional manager by the BGH eight months ago – initiated by the club page. Since then, the reclassification of the managing director post has been struggled. An agreement is not in sight. The responsible supervisory board is a patient situation between representatives of the capital and eV

The association structure of Hannover 96.

Sports chief Mann threatens to say goodbye

Sports director Mann is the desired candidate on the capital side. The monthly hanging game and the resulting time pressure in the licensing process recently prompted the 40-year-old to an anger speech on the TV station “Sky”. “This condition is unbearable. If we continue like this, these people will drive both the EV and the professional department against the wall,” said Mann to the address of the mother’s club. The sports director committed in 2021 even threatened to say goodbye to this season: At some point the time was reached “where the circus is no longer participated”. It is the ongoing power games in the club that have accompanied and annoyed the sports director since taking office.

Dispute over powers of the Managing Director candidate

The association side (H96 EV) reacted to the allegations of men and announced in a press release: there was a managing director candidate on which all four members of the supervisory board of the club and capital were able to agree. Only the signatures of the capital side were missing. But it will be missing. Kind told the NDR: “So far we have not been able to sign the employment contract because things are regulated there that do not belong in there.”

The representatives of the EV are reportedly on their right to issue instructions. So exactly the passage that the DFL stipulated the Hannover 96 EV for compliance with 50+1 in the H96 construct. The representatives of the EV therefore want their candidate to have the last word when making decisions. The capital side naturally does not want that. According to the motto: whoever pays the party can also decide which music is played. However, a double top would also be conceivable. The extent to which the 50+1 rule is maintained is controversial.

Mann-exit would be for child “Worst-Case scenario”

Kind’s favorite is still a man, to whose threatened exit he also commented: “If he goes, then he works. We cannot prevent that. But that would be a disaster. The entire sporting situation would have to be re-analyzed. That would be a disaster, the worst-case scenario.”

The licensing topic for Hannover 96 comes to the wrong time. The “red” are still in the race for the Bundesliga promotion. On Sunday (1.30 p.m., in the NDR LiveCenter), the Lower Saxony Sendersby against Eintracht Braunschweig is pending. But the focus is not currently on sporty, but once again the bitter power struggle in the club.
