Possible Xavi successor Flick probably wants two Bayern stars

Xavi has announced that he will leave FC Barcelona in the summer. Hansi Flick is considered a possible successor – and he obviously has conditions.

Since Xavi announced that he would be leaving FC Barcelona in the summer, the rumor mill has been buzzing about a possible successor. The name of ex-Bayern coach Hansi Flick has also been mentioned repeatedly in the Spanish media recently. According to the newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, Flick is said to be one of the close candidates.

As the portal “El Nacional” writes, Flick already has concrete ideas for a possible Barca squad of the future. The former national coach is said to want to implement “radical changes” in the squad. In addition to the alleged departure of four of the club’s current professionals, Flick is also demanding two FC Bayern stars.

Kimmich was angry recently – now he’s out injured

Accordingly, he would like to have Leroy Sané and Joshua Kimmich. Xavi already wanted the latter Bayern star to join the Catalans, but that hasn’t happened yet. Last summer, the 28-year-old said: “In general, it’s not the case that I’m particularly concerned with it.”

The situation near Kimmich

Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel repeatedly emphasized last year that he would like to have a defensive six, a so-called “holding six”. Through his public statements, he denied Joshua Kimmich this quality, while Kimmich confidently said he was this six.

In the 0-1 win against Werder Bremen a week and a half ago, Tuchel replaced Kimmich in the 64th minute. The midfielder was visibly unhappy. Afterwards he said: “Of course I always want to be on the pitch for 90 minutes.” The rumors of slight disagreements between coach and player did not exactly die down.
