Olivier de Jonge says that he often interrupts his ride to do something about the air. “If I notice that it smells really bad, I stop and wash the shoes with water,” he explains.
The students can’t do anything about it, dog owners from the neighborhood even more so, says Olivier. They should clean up the feces of their four-legged friends more often, he emphasizes.
A neighbor of the school washes his hands in innocence. “I have a dog myself and always pick up the poop. But it’s a shame that some people don’t do that.” Olivier and his colleagues sometimes speak to these people. “But sometimes they react angrily,” said the driver, who suspects that this makes the problem difficult to tackle.
