On March 11, Olena Selichzianowa suddenly saw a bomb coming towards her house from her kitchen. “It happened so fast, I just saw them flying towards me,” she told the BBC. Olena tried to protect her five-year-old twin sons, but she couldn’t stop the shards from severely wounding all three and blinding them. Fortunately, they could go to a top Polish surgeon.
